NSW has the most Motorcycle Licences in Australia, Motorcycles are considerably friendlier for single person Transport and yet the NSW Government has 'allowed' CTP Insurance to double in cost. The second highest number of Competition (Race) Licences in Australia is in NSW, there were 5 circuits yet now there are only 2, WHY?
OPINION: As it stands, the NSW Labour Government has marginalised Motorcyclists. Motorcycles (and Scooters) are not even included in the Sydney Transport Planning except as RTA Revenue raising targets.
Despite a clearly demonstrated need, the present Labour Government is suspected of blocking the building of a replacement Circuit for Oran Park. This prompts the question: Is the Government's ultimate plan to remove Motorcycles from NSW Roads altogether? After perescution comes elimination.
My concern is that when we have no Circuits and Motorcycles are banned from NSW roads only then will people act and start to complain. By then there will be no Dealers, no Automotive parts industry, no places for rider or driver Education, no places to ride and have fun with mates, no tracks for International Motor events events to be used to promote Sydney and Australia as a destination and it will be all too late. The problem is not just NSW, if it is done in NSW, it will be done in other States. We must all do what we can to turn this around, we must make our voice heard, anything you do or contribute will make a difference.
Members of the Motorcycle Community and Industry must think ahead and take action now. We must all take action before it is too late.

The squeaky wheel gets attention.
If YOU do not MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD, Motorcyclists will be ignored.
Motorcycling as you know it, may be lost... and YOU may have no Tracks and no Industry. It is up to you.
By doing nothing Motorcycle Riders, Motorcycle and Motor Industry, Motor Racing and Karts will end up with what ever plan the Government and Bureaucrats give us.
By doing nothing, we will end up with NOTHING. By doing nothing you get what the Government gives you. If you complain and make a noise, Government must make changes, when you are quiet, that says you accept.
The Motorcycle riding population alone justifies at least four suitable and permient Motorcycle Circuits in NSW, presently there is Eastern Creek and Wakefield Park, two Circuits are insufficient to ensure access for events, rider training and affordable access.
There needs to be at least two more Circuits in the Sydney Basin. If the Government is 'persuaded bullied and pushed' to plan and build a multi use Motor Race Circuit and Motorcycling Australia is 'encouraged' remain relevent and build a State Motorcycle Complex (as they have elsewhere) Motorcycling, rider training, ride days and the whole racing fraternaty will have a secure future in NSW.
NSW would also be in a position to bid to host a round of World Superbike or even MotoGP, either will bring the TV eyes of 200 - 300 Million People who could see Sydney as the place to visit. The stakes are high and the benefit of action is significant AND YOU MUST ACT. All Motorsports must work together to ensure we have the facilities we need, the loss of one discipline is a loss for us all.
There is a NSW State Election coming up and now is the time to make your existence and wishes noticed, make your Vote count.
SO WHAT CAN YOU DO...
ACTION 1:
Download a copy of the attached PDF 'Build another Motorsport facility in the Sydney Basin Petition'. Print a copy and get all the people close to you to Sign. Then foward the PDF Petition by Email to the people you know and ask them to sign and get signatures on the Petition. You must send the Petition to the Lead Petitioner to make it count, even with just one Signature or completely filled out, please send it to be combined with others so your voice is heard.

ACTION 2:
Write a Letter to your local Member of Parliament and those standing at the next Election.'. The best way to get a result is to approach your local member (preferably face to face and hand them your letter) and get them to raise the issue with the minister and you will get a real response. ACTION 3:
You know those people you see handing out "How to vote" cards outside your local school at election time and you think , who are these parasites and why would anyone want to do it? if you have a burning issue become one of them! Its hard work at election time trying to find people willing to do it and their efforts are not forgotten by any pollie with half a brain, so any issue they raise is always looked into as the pollies cannot afford to burn them. This definitely works, local footy clubs sometimes hand out for 3 opposing candidates at a time just so they get a voice regardless of who wins, so they can get funding for their new clubrooms etc....and it works.
ACTION 4:
If you are a Member of a Motorcycle Club affiliated with Motorcycling Australia or the holder of a Competition Licence issued by Motorcycling Australia, write to BOTH Motorcycling New South Wales and Motorcycling Australia separately, request that they take action to immediately secure land for the building of a Circuit. Do not just leave it with sending a Letter, ask your Club Deligate to bring the matter up at the Monthly Meetings. The money you pay entitles you to have a say, to have your voice represented and it entitles you to say the direction you want your money spent, do not take no for an answer. Both MA and MNSW must be made to take action to ensure a State Complex is secured and built, if one body is incompident or unable, push the other to act independantly. Even if you must become a pain in the But, make sure your wishes are acted upon.
